Vivitar 98PM

I have one. I'm shooting some film through it soon. Home movies of my oh-so pregnant girlfriend and such. Some Plus-X, some Tri-X some Kodachrome. I don't have the manual. It has an automatic exposure setting but I have no idea how it "knows" how fast the film is?? Does it? I can push or pull the exposure but it isn't calibrated at all. The knob says A with a + above it and a - below. While the camera is rolling I can see the in-camera light meter changing stops as I play with the exposure setting but, like I said, I have no idea how I can know what to set the exposure at?? I'm new to this. I've done a lot of still photography but no moving pictures so any help or advice would be appreciated. Oh and is it true that Super8 shoots at 18fps?? Thanks in advance.

    here's what i know...

kodachrome is best outside. you need lights to film with it inside. i can't remember if tri-x or plus-x works inside. they're both black and white, correct? i know one of them is better inside with no lights. for color, ektachrome is better indoors.

alot of cameras can shoot at 18fps and 24fps. 24fps is the professional standard. 18 is faster and is used more for home movies.
