I am starting research on a new project for Discovery Channel and I think it could be a good opportunity for a lot of fellow documentary filmmakers out there. A lot of us spend time documenting our own lives or the lives of our friends and family, but then put down the camera to work on another project, and we don't really do anything with the footage, we just wanted to document the moment and hold on to it.

If you think you have an amazing and interesting story that's been captured on videotape or film, we would like to give you the ability to share it. We also want the people who are providing the footage to help shape the story and they will work with the producers to tell the story.

I am looking for people who have spent time videotaping their own lives. This could be anything from taping their own adventures - to taping your friends and family during an incredibly difficult time - to videotaping the last few weeks of a loved one before they passed. Most importantly, we are looking for people that have captured a poignant and challenging part of their lives on videotape.

We are looking for home movies, video diaries or any other way that you have captured an event on tape. All formats are welcome.

If you feel like you might have some video footage that fits this description, please send your name, where you are located and a description of your footage to:

YourDocs2007@arp.tv.

Thanks for reading this. If you could find the time to pass on this information... be it through forwarding this email, or posting it to your blog, or maybe you know someone who fits what I am looking for.

Thanks,
Blake
